Welcome back to the Process Diary. I hope you enjoyed the first part of this month's discussion point. Any and all feedback, as always, is welcome.
This week, I present the second part of our discussion, where we focus on the characters. We begin with Marcus, and suss out what kind of a guy he is: disgruntled employee? Tinkerer? Hulking mass of frustration? Problem solver? Photocopy repair-man?
Who is David Winfield? Corporate whore? PR man? Used Car salesman?
In this episode, we reveal a tiny bit of spoilery material, as it is pertinent to the paths we wish to put these characters on. We spent a lot of time sussing out the character of Marcus. In the end, this was very worthwhile, as we managed to fit a lot of concepts around the character, and know just how he might react in certain situations. The same with David Winfield - we discovered that we could figure out new plot points just by knowing what the character was capable of.

Keep in mind - Min, Corben, Aziz and Sal don't really get a mention yet... but they are not forgotten. They will all still be in the story, and when we get around to it, we shall be revealing some new discussions on where they fit into this new plot line.
It is probably fair to say that one of the ideas that has been sacrificed is that of the Southlanders. It has been sacrificed for a greater plot point, so if you trust us, we can guarantee you will enjoy the new direction even more.

Carl Sagan - author of books such as Contact and The Demon Haunted World. Begin the journey on discovering this man yourselves here. Oh - and I think he was the inspiration for Hugo Weaving's accent for the Matrix movies. Or it could just be a coincidence.
Spaced - a comedy starring Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson. Pitched as a cross between The Simpsons, the X-Files and Northern Exposure... how can you go wrong? No, scratch that: how can you NOT go very, very, wrong indeed?
On a side note of complete irrelevance, but of personal excitement: HAPPY DARWIN DAY! For those not in the know, today is the 200th birthday of Sir Charles Darwin - naturalist, and famous for his theory of natural selection. It is also the corresponding 150th anniversary of the famous voyage of the Beagle. If you're looking for something to do today to commemorate the birthday of this auspicious man, check out Darwin Day.org.
