"The nights are cold in Texas as Werewolves secretly haunt the town, but Macgregor has a supernatural secret of his own. When the sun sets it’ll be a showdown at High Moon."

A couple of weeks back, David Gallaher wrote to tell me he had discovered my blog, The Process Diary, through a promo played on Mur Lafferty's show, I Should Be Writing. He sent me some links to his work, and naturally, I followed them... I then discovered that the blog he was keeping was for a commissioned web-comic available through zudacomics.com - the interactive wing of DC.

This did not, however, lessen the awe I felt when I read through the first 16 pages. I became instantly hooked on High Moon. The artwork is stunning: original and colorful, but with a "rough-around-the-edges" look as if drawn on in pastel, chalk and charcoal (it is, of course, rendered on a Wacom Cintiq by Steve Ellis). It reminds me of the work of Sam Keith - the legend behind titles such as The Maxx. Yet it retains a vibrant life that is all its own. Every panel and every page is an artwork... so why am I still trying to find more and more ways to describe it, when I should just give you the bloody link, so you can see for yourself. Before you go there, however (and please do come back to listen to what Dave has to say) remember: it is really best to watch it in full screen.
HIGH MOON
I sat down with David Gallaher, the writer and creator of High Moon - and we discussed the background of this story.

We spoke a bit about how he got into comics, how he got the story pitched and published, and why Zuda is such a great interactive medium for artists and readers alike. There is some really interesting stuff, and I am happy to announce that this won't be the last we hear of the High Moon crew - hopefully, I will talk to Steve Ellis, the man behind the hand behind the images before too long.
